Many thanks to a beautiful couple who served our area so well. I loved it when they came to school to share the Bible stories. It was always one of my favorite days and I looked forward to it each time they came to Blackmont school. Thank you so much for your love and commitment to our area. It will not be forgotten. You had an open door and you used the opportunities. I’m sure there’s a special reward in Heaven that awaited you and your husband. Though I just saw this years later, your service will be honored no matter the time span. I learned as a child about Jesus and you had a great impact in my life. Thank you and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

I remember my first contact with the Wurzbacks was at Balkan School. The colorful characters from the Bible were displayed on a flannel board. They always seemed to be real and relevant to my life. Mrs. Wurzback was not only visible in the school but in the community as well. My mother died in Louisville in February 1978.We brought her back to Bell County for burial. Mrs. Wurzback showed up, inspite of a huge snow and ice storm. When my dad died in the summer of 1991 Mrs. Wurzback came to the funeral home. A special cousin had an illness who lived in East Tennessee and died several months later .During his illness and death their son showed up several times. The Wurzback Family has been a blessing for many years. Mrs. Wurzback thank you for sharing Christ with my people.You are truly a servant of God. Rest in peace my friend. I remember this lady coming to our little school. I was always so excited when our teacher would tell us that the "Bible Teacher" would be there that day. She would come into the room and set up her presentation board. As she would tell us the bible stories, she would place these beautifully, colored illustrations on her board as an aid to telling the stories. I loved the stories, and I loved the beautiful illustrations. She would make the bible stories come alive. I remember her being a sweet, and kind person. She told about the wise man building his house upon a rock, all the while placing the illustrations on her board. This story always stood out for me, and I have always remembered that as I built my life.

It was a magical timie when she came. It was a time that Jesus was still allowed in our school. She would lead us in song, and assign bible verses.

She was my first connection with Jesus, and she help lay the foundation of my religious beliefs when she would visit our tiny school. May God bless this wonderful lady. I will never forget her stories. Rest In Peace. Mary (Rapier) Saylor

I wanted to let you know that this wonderful lady touched the hearts of me and my husband Keith. We still remember her teaching us to sing How Great Though Art. Handing out bibles. Leading us in prayer. She was a beautiful soul. A true woman of God. You have our prayers and we just wanted to say thank you to Mrs. Wurzbach for making learning about God so much fun. She will be missed.

Mr. & Mrs. Wurzback were amazing people who always let their light shine for the Lord. Mrs. Wurzback taught 3 generations about Jesus & His love: myself, my sons, & my oldest grand-daughter. Heaven is shining brighter with her there.

She was a light to everyone. I got the special privilege of having her as a Sunday School teacher and getting to listen to her at Blackmont Elementary School. When I think of her I think of the song Thank You For Giving To The Lord. Because I am a life that was changed.

Mrs. Wurzback's contribution and work for the children of Bell County will continue to live on in the lives she has touched. As a Bell County student, my husband remembers her visits to Harmony and Ward Chapel Elementaries. As teachers we both have been touched by her felt Bible stories to the children at Ward Chapel and Yellow Creek. Her devotion to the work of The Lord was always a highlight each month as we gathered the children around her. I have no doubt that she is enjoying her eternal reward. Her dedication and legacy will always be remembered by both of us.

Mr and Mrs W were a great tool and inspiration in spreading the gospel. With their music and felt board illustrations they explained the Bible stories in depth to where a third grader could understand at Lone Jack. They contributed much to our schools in Bell County and brought many young souls to understand the saving grace of God. God rest her soul. It was an exciting day when they visited our school.

I was one of the kids from Blackmont that she took to camp every summer. I would visit her at her home and she became a dear friend. She made a difference in my life! she was a true servant and completely selfless person. I dearly loved her.

My first memories of Ms. Wurzback was in grade school when her and her husband would come to the schools for bible lessons. We really enjoyed those days when they would come! Later we became friends when we attended the Bell County Homemakers group together. She will be greatly missed!
