When Mom went to the nursing home I had a chance to become close with her again. We had drifted apart over time. I was saved just a short time before Mom went into the home. I asked her every time I went to see her, Mom is your heart right with Jesus? Her answer was always Yes. I have complete faith that Mom is with Jesus now. Mom I'll see you again. Love and miss you.

The first time I met Ollie she was driving this huge brown car. I think 20 people could have fit in that thing. I really do think 5 or 6 of us got in that thing. She had her rope tobacco and spit bottle. I thought if I got out of line this woman would beat me and tell my parents. Lol. Later things would change from her hauling me around to me hauling her. I would fight people to take her to dialysis. We’d talk about life, fishing, and the people we knew in common. She kept me updated on all my high school friends. I remember her being so excited to move next to Rita. When she decided to go to the nursing home I remember her being excited about that adventure. I visited her from time to time. I’d ask her if she was out chasing those men in her wheelchair. She’d laugh and tell me she wouldn’t have them. Lol. I’d go see her and she’s have a new hair do. I’d ask what his name was and she’d tell me she didn’t know yet. I have a couple pieces of her artwork that I’ll treasure forever. I will miss my momma Ollie. I

Story shared: Old Goat

We had decided to go to Turkeyfoot fishing. My mom and my husband Todd went on ahead of the rest of us. He said they got to the creek and were headed down the bank, mom with her many poles and her tackle box. Todd said to her Miss Ollie are you sure you can make it down to the creek. She said oh sure I am as nimble footed as an old goat. Todd said about that time all he saw was fishing poles go flying through the air tackle box went up Mom's feet had flew out from under her and she hit the ground. Todd said I threw stuff down and ran to her thinking all the while sarah will kill me if I let her momma get hurt. He said Miss Ollie was laughing as he helped her to her feet. She said to Todd well the old goat aint what she used to be. He said he would never forget that as long as he lived. They ofen recounted that memory and Mom would laugh and say to him the old goat aint what she used to be.

My mother, Miss Ollie was one of the sweetest most kind lady you could ever hope to meet. She loved her family deeply and friends to her were also family. She was always willing to help others no matter the circumstance. She never met a stranger in this world. Her faith and devotion to God was unwavering right to the end, her strength was beyond measure. She touched so many throughout her life and she will be missed by many. If she taught me anything it was to show kindness and compassion to your fellow man and treat everyone the way you wish to be treated with love and respect. Fly high my beautiful angel I will see you again one day. Love my Momma.
